Coastal Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive is always tak­ing steps to make our elec­tric sys­tem as reli­able and resilient as pos­si­ble.

We recent­ly installed new Viper-ST reclosers in the Lake George and Flem­ing areas. These smart devices help detect prob­lems on pow­er lines and quick­ly iso­late them, reduc­ing the impact of out­ages and num­ber of mem­bers affect­ed when issues occur.

The new equip­ment can also be mon­i­tored and con­trolled remote­ly, allow­ing our crews to respond more effi­cient­ly dur­ing out­ages and main­te­nance activ­i­ties.

These upgrades are part of our ongo­ing efforts to strength­en our elec­tric sys­tem and bet­ter serve our mem­bers. We plan to add more of these devices to oth­er areas in the future
