Coastal Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive is a com­mu­ni­ty-owned elec­tric coop­er­a­tive pro­vid­ing elec­tric ser­vice to the peo­ple of Coastal Geor­gia in Bryan, Lib­er­ty, Long, and McIn­tosh coun­ties. We are ded­i­cat­ed to pro­vid­ing our mem­bers with depend­able pow­er at the most com­pet­i­tive rates. And because we are local­ly-owned and man­aged, you get respon­sive, cus­tomer-focused ser­vice 24 hours a day, sev­en days a week.

Since 1940, we’ve been proud to serve our mem­bers, pro­vid­ing elec­tric ser­vice to the peo­ple of Coastal Geor­gia in Bryan, Lib­er­ty, Long, and McIn­tosh coun­ties. As a mem­ber, you are an own­er of the coop­er­a­tive.

Service Area

Coastal Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive has total and exclu­sive ser­vice respon­si­bil­i­ty for rough­ly 573 square miles in one of the fastest-grow­ing regions of the South, with head­quar­ters locat­ed in Mid­way, Geor­gia.

Capital Credits

When your elec­tric co-op earns mar­gins, we return the mon­ey to our mem­bers. These mar­gins rep­re­sent an inter­est-free loan of oper­at­ing cap­i­tal by the mem­ber­ship to the coop­er­a­tive and there­fore belong to you, the own­ers.

Foundation

One way the coop­er­a­tive serves the com­mu­ni­ty is through the Coastal Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive Foun­da­tion. Learn how we assist with the food, health, safe­ty, edu­ca­tion, and shel­ter needs of cit­i­zens in the coun­ties we serve and how to apply for grants.

Board of Directors

The Coastal Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive Board of Direc­tors is elect­ed by co-op mem­bers and makes deci­sions in the best inter­est of the mem­ber­ship as a whole. Direc­tors live and work in the local com­mu­ni­ty and are coop­er­a­tive mem­bers them­selves.

Staff

Annual Meeting

Our Annu­al Meet­ing and Mem­ber Appre­ci­a­tion Days give mem­bers the chance to meet with employ­ees, hear from co-op lead­er­ship and, most impor­tant­ly, elect the direc­tors who make deci­sions on your behalf.

Bylaws

Coastal Elec­tric Cooperative’s bylaws gov­ern the oper­a­tion of the co-op, includ­ing over­sight by the Board of Direc­tors, finan­cial respon­si­bil­i­ties, and more. A copy is avail­able to all coop­er­a­tive mem­bers.

Observed Holidays

Each year, Coastal Elec­tric Cooperative’s offices are closed for cer­tain hol­i­days so our employ­ees can spend time with their friends and fam­i­ly. Rest assured, teams are always on stand­by in case of out­ages or emer­gen­cies.
