Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow

Young woman smiles as she works her summer jobAtten­tion, ris­ing high school seniors: Now through April 25, Coastal Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive is accept­ing appli­ca­tions for the Learn­ers Today, Lead­ers Tomor­row sum­mer work pro­gram.

Par­tic­i­pants in Learn­ers Today, Lead­ers Tomor­row not only earn a nice pay­check, but they gain on-the-job train­ing, make con­tacts in var­i­ous career fields and have a sum­mer full of new expe­ri­ences.

Through this sum­mer work pro­gram, stu­dents explore their inter­ests and hone their skills, while also learn­ing about elec­tric coop­er­a­tive career fields like engi­neer­ing, busi­ness, line work, con­struc­tion, safe­ty, build­ing and grounds, cus­tomer ser­vice, infor­ma­tion tech­nol­o­gy, account­ing, mar­ket­ing, and com­mu­ni­ca­tions.

They will also col­lab­o­rate with oth­er Learn­ers Today, Lead­ers Tomor­row stu­dents from across coastal Geor­gia to com­plete Coastal Elec­tric work projects, as well as vol­un­teer in the com­mu­ni­ty.

Par­tic­i­pants will be paid $9 an hour and may work up to 40 hours per week. Stu­dents must be at least 16 years old and must have com­plet­ed the 11th grade, with a min­i­mum grade-point aver­age (GPA) of 2.5 to be eli­gi­ble. Stu­dents cho­sen for Learn­ers Today, Lead­ers Tomor­row must be avail­able to work the entire pro­gram peri­od from June 5‑July 28.

You’ll need:

  • Resume.
  • One-page cov­er let­ter briefly describ­ing your inter­est in the pro­gram and why you should be select­ed.
  • Offi­cial tran­script ver­i­fy­ing cur­rent GPA.

The dead­line to apply is April 25.
